The 2023 Annual Assembly of the Louisiana Interchurch Conference was held March 13-14, 2023 at the Roman Catholic Life Center in Baton Rouge, LA.

The theme for our assembly was 1 Corinthians 12: There are many parts, but one body. This was illustrated with Potato Heads (with many parts that are assembled to form one body). Participants engaged in discussions about how we might better live into this reality of unity as the Church. Pictures are below.

Participants received this PACKET during the Assembly, which includes the agenda and the biographies of those who presented to the Assembly.

The packet also includes two statements approved by the assembly participants:

  1. A Resolution Reaffirming the Louisiana Interchurch Conference’s Opposition to the Death Penalty.

  2. A Statement Against Hate (specifically against antisemitism and islamophobia).

Jessica Vermilyea, President of the LA VOAD (Louisiana Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters), presented these SLIDES.

Jack Harrison, Director of the Juvenile Defense Clinic with LSU Law Center, presented these SLIDES.
