Louisiana -

some 2019 Events

(Each year Events are published as soon

as we are made aware of them)

Events of which we are aware of

thus far:

January 22, 2019, New Orleans:

Fr. Buddy Noel, LIC Coordinator for Regional Nine, reports that the New Orleans Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be Tuesday, January 22, beginning at 7:00 PM, at Central St. Matthew United Church of Christ, located at 1333 S Carrollton Ave. in New Orleans, with a Reception following. Various denominations will participate. All are invited to join them.

January 23, 2019, Pineville:

Fr. Scott Chemino, LIC Coordinator for Regional Three, reports that the Episcopal Diocese of Western Louisiana will host a prayer service for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity at the historic Mount Olivet Church in Pineville on Wednesday, January 23, at 11:00 A.M.  Representatives from several denominations will participate.  The event is being coordinated on behalf of the diocese through the office of the Reverend Rich Snow of Saint Timothy Episcopal Church, Alexandria.  All are welcome.  (In central Louisiana the Episcopal and Roman dioceses ALTERNATE every other year for hosting events for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.  The odd years are held by the Episcopalians and the even years are hosted by the Roman Catholic Diocese.)

Please make plans now to attend an event near you!

Lafourche Parish -

monthly prayer meetings:

Mr. Rob Gorman, LIC Coordinator for Regional Eight reports that there is an interdenominational prayer breakfast held on the second Thursday of each month beginning at 8 am for Ministers and their guests. It’s held at the Hope Center in Galliano (across the bayou from St. Joseph Catholic Church). The prayer breakfast is open to all denominations. Many of the ministers who attend are with independent churches. The organizer is Reverend Morris Hunter, Jr., (the Pastor at Christian Family Center). (Mr. Gorman also recently participated with them in a 3-day Chaplain training class at the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.)  Area ministers and their guests to join this group in prayer.
