Fr. Charles Dana “Dan” Krutz

Fr. Dan Krutz developed ecumenical initiatives ranging from interfaith dialogues to stewardship of Louisiana's natural resource and from prison reform to child poverty reduction. He is a priest of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana.

Since its formation in 1966, there have been six Executive Directors of the Louisiana Interchurch Conference

In 1966, the Rev. Sam Allen, an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), became the first full-time Executive Director of the Louisiana Council of Churches. The Rev. Lewis Wilkins, a Presbyterian minister, began as Executive Director of the renamed Louisiana Interchurch Conference on Jan. 1, 1971. In 1974, the Rev. Dr. Robert Harrington, a Methodist minister, was appointed to succeed him. Rev. James L. Stovall, a United Methodist minister became Executive Director on June 1, 1976. Rev. Charles Dana “Dan” Krutz, an Episcopal Priest, became the Executive Director on May 1, 1991. Ms. Leigh Rachal, a Presbyterian (PCUSA) elder, became the Louisiana Interchurch Conference’s sixth Executive Director on Feb. 14, 2022.

Each of the Executive Directors facilitated the progress of the Louisiana Interchurch Conference in enacting the vision of Christian Unity across the state of Louisiana.
